Plot Summary
In the far future, a woman is resurrected after the end of humanity by an alien race that has the power of resurrection. The alien race, the Roanei, have the power to resurrect life, and they tell her that she is able to request for all humankind to be brought back to life. However, they do not guarantee that her request will be met. She wanders the world alone, wondering how she can convince the Roanei to bring back humans. She tries to sway them through art, through altruism, and through power, but fails. Through these failed attempts, however, she learns of another long-extinct race that selflessly sacrificed itself to save the Roanei. She asks the Roanei to resurrect that race instead of humankind, and the Roanei is dumbstruck. They grant her wish because there must be something higher about that race for her to place them above her own. The race, the Tomeer, then appear and tell the Roanei that they has ascended to another reality and that they want to teach them. The Tomeer request for humankind to be resurrected, as humans have the potential to be something great. The Roanei agrees to go with the Tomeer, and brings back all of humankind before it goes.
