Saya has learned to fight, but most of her magician family does not believe it should be something she continues pursuing because she is a woman. Understanding this, Saya gives an offering to one of the deities, and in response it tells her if she can swim across the river, she will become a great fighter. But when she crosses the river, she finds herself in a new body. The deity tells her she must continue on to Engim in order to fight like she want to, with the opponent being the Daemon King. After watching the Daemon King defeat a strong woman, Saya steps up and challenges the king. She is subsequently pummeled, and wakes up two months later in a comfortable adobe in less pain than she expected.

She learns how to utilize magic in an effective way to challenge the king, and the rematch soon commences. Saya summons the hundreds of dead opponents that the King killed over the years, and her friend is able to deal the final blow to the King.
