Eleanor is a young Australian woman at a Death in Vegas concert in Paris. She finds the whole affair unbelievably overwhelming and sad, so she reaches up to cover her eyes. She feels the hand of a stranger on hers. It is a young Indian man named Rashid, who pulls her away from the concert. They walk on the streets and eventually make their way to the bedroom. He tells her about his failures: he was sent from Bombay to study computers after the death of his mother, but he dropped out and is now working as a cleaning man at the concert venue. They fall asleep, but he wakes, in tears, after dreaming that his mother was disappointed in him. Rashid asks Eleanor to leave and she walks on the streets, alone again, thinking about the concert.
