An Algerian university professor and former prisoner of France struggles with the symbolic implications of getting advice from an elite French visiting professor.

All across the contemporary world, space whales are falling from the sky. They seem to be trying to deliver a message to the Earth — but as an American grassroots movement attempts to communicate with these creatures, it will face challenges from the government as well as the possible dangers of interacting with these interstellar beings.

In a dystopian society in the Archipelago, a select group of people are trusted with memories from history, and they serve the ruling council as advisors. When one of the councilman disagrees with the advisors' most recent decision, he makes it his mission to put a stop to their influence by any means necessary.
