Pretty Boy is a handsome 16-year-old boy. One day, he’s dancing at a club, looking around. He loves the feeling of people wanting him, but he fears that, in a couple of years, his beauty will wither and he’ll never feel that ecstasy again. He looks up and, on a screen, he sees his old friend, Bobby. Pretty Boy is horrified: Bobby’s on the screen because he’s decided to automate himself, distilling his whole essence into a computer chip so that he can remain pretty forever. Pretty Boy asks to speak with Bobby; Bobby’s voices come out of the speakers, encouraging Pretty Boy to make the same choice he did so that they can be beautiful and vibrant together. Conflicted but strangely giddy, Pretty Boy leaves the club to consider what he should do.
