Five children have gone missing in Sunnydale, as reported by the bus driver Old Man McGinty. There are lots of crazy rumors about him, he looks like someone in disguise, and is at the top of the suspect list for the crime. Little do the police know that McGinty can see the ghost children. They haunt the bus and the school. In comes the Super Teen Detective Squad. Helen, the pretty one, wants to be a monster. Greg is the unofficial leader. Tricia feels like another person lives in her skin. Rooster has PTSD that isn't rooted in reality. There is always dog hair on Trisha's clothes despite her not having one, and Rooster and Greg have faint memories of having a dog on the team. Greg has hazy memories too, of a shed and a groundskeeper, of a dog and of garden shears. Old Man McGinty finds children's bones under the shed. Greg and the STDS accuse McGinty of the crime, but the guilty culprit is one of their own.
