Plot Summary
Cal is murdered by two men, whom he thought to be his friends. These two men, Rosk and Wayland, are in a relationship together, but do not acknowledge their relationship to one another nor to anybody else. They hide their sexual relationship, but are caught one day by their boss. The two are fired and in terror of being imprisoned, steal Cal’s car. They do not stop there, but also murder Cal. Cal is a young man who befriended the two men in the town he works at. Cal was very involved in the community, working to help the Black community and poor white people as well. His girlfriend left him, unexpectedly, and later committed suicide. Since then, he has been living with his parents, who never liked his girlfriend and whom he has never told about her death. Cal’s body is found and his murderers confess to their desperate, violent crime.
