A man who has just received a call about his mother's death watches a classical music concert with rapt attention and tries to forget all that is happening in the rest of his life. He thinks that the musicians are dressed as pallbearers. Recently, he had a dream about attending a concert such as this one. The minutes-old memory of another man calling to tell him his mother is dead in the middle of the concert plays on a constant loop. The phone begins to ring again as audience members file out.
