Walker is a freelance demon hunter backpacking the United States. When notified about an inner demon presence nearby, one that feeds on insecurity, they get to work killing the creature.

While calling their grandmother from a restaurant, Walker witnesses a coven of hunters struggling to fend off a ravager, a demon that hunts souls. Despite initially refusing their help, the coven soon changes their minds and adopts Walker's successful plan for slaying the monster.

The hunters offer Walker membership but, relishing their independence, Walker refuses them and heads to a bus stop to visit their grandmother.
