An American on a boat from Palermo to Tunis runs into two other Americans, one skinny lady and a young man. They all talk for a while, and when they get to Tunis, the American runs into the young man again. The young man says he is returning to Europe the next day. A few weeks later, after exploring the Mediterranean countries, the American runs into the young man again on a boat back to the United States. The young man tells the American that he works for his father’s firm, but left on a whim to go to Europe. He also tells him that he wishes he hadn’t abandoned his father. The young man then tells the American that they should write about their travels. The American says they will.
