Plot Summary
A man known as the Reaper breaks into a decaying mansion filled with grotesque traps set for him by the thanatophobic Architect. In the mansion's dark halls, a hateful voice blames him for inflicting agony on a mauled cat in its final moments of life. Upstairs, the Reaper finds a resentful, corpse-like woman on a bed with a thick coat of dust who tells him she was brought here after surviving the gunshot that killed her daughter. She is enraged when the Reaper leaves without taking her life. In the nursery, he finds an undead manifestation of a stillborn fetus who was denied its natural death. Finally, he comes face to face with the Architect and takes the Architect's life. But in doing so, he traps himself in the Architect’s prison, like a fly in a pitcher plant, incapable of ever feeling death’s liberation.
