A married man named Blade has achieved the American Dream. He has a loving wife and four children and is an accomplished editor. He's even writing an autobiography on his success in life. One day, the Herron's household invites him to watch a singer perform. There, he becomes obsessed with Miss Herron, who has the loveliest voice he's ever heard. Blade has some musical aptitude as he is proficient in the flute and decides to take music lessons with the woman. However, when he calls the following day to arrange a session, Miss Herron has left the household. Blade, who's fantasized about a life with Miss. Herron becomes devastated. He no longer finds joy in his wife, children, and life. He joins a band and continually humiliates himself with his subpar flute playing. His wife notices a change in her husband, and their marriage becomes loveless.
