Mac is a sailor aboard the _Hopi Victory. _He rides with several men amidst a coming storm. They hear a fight somewhere on the ship, and then the captain yells and someone reports that a man, Chicky, has gone overboard. The captain orders the Third Mate, Walter Grandjean, to direct people into positions to keep watch on action around the ship.  One of the shipmen finally sees Chicky. After a while, the men are able to toss a life ring towards him as he struggles against the cold currents. Though he slips from the ring for a moment, Cole the Lascar grabs Chicky by the neck and saves him.  The men shoot the whole incident with their camera and laugh at Chicky, who still wears his wet shoes.
