In the future, when scientists have discovered how to upload human minds to a server, they begin to redownload the minds of wealthy and famous people into the former bodies of the working class. Connor, a living server worker for the scientists in Miami, has a fetish for these people called “reboots”. One day, he meets a reboot from an app and they spend a night together. The reboot, Ejj, forces Connor to contemplate the ethics of the world he is complicit in. Eventually, Ejj tells Connor about a reboot conspiracy to blow up the server facilities in Miami. Connor then has to decide if he is going to join the revolution, or if his interest in reboots and their humanity is just for show.
