An unnamed species of alien land on an unnamed planet. To their disappointment, they receive very little attention from the general population when they land in the capital. The aliens introduce themselves to local officials, but the officials show no curiosity or wonder at the presence of this previously unknown species of intelligent lifeforms. The entire population is obsessed with a virtual reality, which is where they spend every second of their spare time. Curious about the draw of this virtual reality, the aliens attempt to try it out themselves, but find that their biology is incompatible with the technology. From then on, they spend a year exploring the natural world of the planet. They enjoy themselves immensely, but notice that they never see any other individuals in these wondrous places. When their time is up, they leave, still stunned by the beauty they saw on the planet.
