Plot Summary
A mythological kingdom is ruled by a greedy king named Nyibosu. Attempting to satisfy his greed, he puts out a message that he is seeking a wife. A woman named Essis, imprisoned already by a demigod magister, is brought to him in response, her beauty unparalleled. The king marries her in an instant, trapping Essis with him, but she is able to find solace in creating life in her new garden. She spends her days planting with the gardeners and, soon enough, finds her true lover, Cor, whom she has two children with. Her eldest daughter is named Ayo, and her younger son is named Tera. One day, the children are playing in the garden and are discovered. Because Tera has horns on his head like his father, it is clear that he is not the king’s son. After the discovery of her children, Essis is imprisoned inside the garden, Tera is imprisoned in a labyrinth underground, and Ayo lives on believing that she is the king’s daughter and that she will be forced to marry him. Over the years, Ayo brings her brother things from her room so that he can live more comfortably underground. After many years, the family is able to reunite and escape the kingdom forever.
