Mom and Dad send Gordon Rudolph a series of questions in the mail. They ask him if he is selling his father's paintings. They question if he remembers the cottage in the paintings and the scene that inspired it. They ask him why he had been crying. They question him if the woman in the painting was truly his mother. They reveal that the mother said they should not have done what they did and the father said it was too late. They ask him where his real parents are. They ask what a mother is, a father, a son. They reveal that his father is dead. They bring up the painting that Gordon sold over and over again. They say, "This is enough for now" and sign the questionnaire, "Love, Mom and Dad."
