Red, a teenage girl, wanders through Cambridge on the night of Halloween and wears a coat that belonged to another man before her. Her powers include making people fall asleep instantly, which she utilizes as she rides the bus. She later pauses to trade her coat for one worn by a dead homeless man.
Wearing a mask, Red reaches a club entitled Prospero's, which is reserved for the hyper-wealthy. The manager approaches her to shoo her out of the club because of her status. Her touch kills him, and all who try to come into contact with her die instantly. Red strides out of the club, ignoring all of the carnage behind her, free.
