Two men, one Black and the other white, decide that there will be a global race war for 30 days between white people and everyone else. Stevie, a young white man, decides to go out and hitchhike his way around. He meets a young white woman who gives him a flyer stating that all women, regardless of race, are fighting all men now, but Stevie shoots her and takes her car. Attempts by the national government to end the violence are met with more hostility. Religious groups decide to join the fray, with Catholics killing Protestants and Jewish people joining in as well.

With only 8 of the prescribed 30 days left, Stevie enters an older white man's car. After a short scuffle, which Stevie survives, he opens the man's glove compartment to see that all of the youth of the world declared war on everyone over the age of thirty. Further divisions erupt, driving groups into further and further splintering.

With just 10 minutes left of the 30 days allotted, Stevie joins a crowd gathering in Times Square to celebrate the end of the violence. A cult of women called Shinsetsu are handing out kerosene, saying that the true final war is the one against yourself. Stevie runs away as people light themselves on fire.
