A young boy lives in Los Angeles during the 20th-century. Today is the day that the apocalypse is supposed to occur. It’s been pinpointed down to the minute; all there’s left to do is wait. He meets up with his friends, Paul and Howie. They toss around a ball before going home. The boy sees his mother, who tells him everything’s going to be all right. The boy leaves home again and gets a ride to town from a man, Jack Goodwin. He sees his friends and satisfies his sudden craving for a candy bar. Suddenly, the sky grows darker. He hugs the person nearest to him, the snooty girl who never cared for him. They kiss. Eventually, the world ends, and the universe begins.
