Plot Summary
The plane home from Birthright starts experiencing major turbulence. Fi is sitting next to Emma and Dean who have been making out the entire ride, and Fi desperately prays to God to not let her die a virgin. She's miserable that she hadn't had sex during the trip, a purposefully under-supervised ten-day opportunity for Jewish kids to get together. Her roommate Emma is the prettiest girl on the trip and got first pick. Fi marvels at her perfect appearance and the magic communication that seems to occur between all the popular kids.
The pilot announces an emergency landing in Dublin, giving the group a bonus night together. Emma tells Fi it's the perfect opportunity for her to bone Max, whom she says Fi's been staring at the whole trip. Fi's hope is renewed, and when the popular group appear in her and Emma's room to hang out - a backstage pass for Fi into a social life she'd never have - she sits as close to Max as she can. They play spin the bottle, and Max's spin lands on her. He fudges awkwardly, tells Fi it's not personal, and the crew filters out. Fi starts crying as soon as she can, curled in bed so Emma won't see. The next day she claims her own row on the plane, resolutely alone.
