Kath is a college-age woman who works at the Clinic of a Woman named Maggie. After a natural disaster wipes out most of the population, food supply and civilization all together, society is left without much hope. One night, Kath and her friends are going away from the clinic when they come across three children on the road. They decide to go back to the clinic to try and help them, but it seems that all is lost. The clinic begins to advocate for population control because they do not have enough rations. Meanwhile, Kath is falling in love with another woman at camp, Melanie. Through all the bad times, they stick it out together.
