Plot Summary
Daesha lives in the distant future of Los Angeles where a large dome-style firewall has been built around the city to protect it from wildfires. The dome was designed by Daesha's great grandmother Jean, which leaves Daesha with a great amount of responsibility. Daesha makes her way through the woods to check up on the diagnostics of the firewall with two teenagers she has been left in charge of named Talia and Carlos. Talia and Carlos are slight troublemakers to the council that makes decisions about the wall. Carlos has a stealing habit, and Talia loves playing with fire. As they walk through the woods together, Talia disappears and Daesha sends Carlos after her. When Carlos finds her, they've discovered there's a crack in the wall. Alarmed, Daehsa is forced to hold an impromptu council meeting to make them aware of the news. The council members are projected in the middle of the woods and Daesha is very overwhelmed by all of the voices. Then, one voice of an elderly woman comes through saying that she knew Grandma Jean and she left Daesha in charge for a reason. Daesha ends the meeting and begins to search for the solution. The group begins to find more cracks in the wall than they initially noticed. Talia starts playing with her lighter and the group notices the wall reacts to the fire by healing itself. Surprised, they make the conclusion that the wall absorbs the energy of fire and becomes stronger. The three gather wood and light it on fire to nourish the wall and heal it completely.
