Plot Summary
An alien called Mutan Mion decides to move to Tean City, a metropolitan area filled with multiple races of aliens. He decides to pursue science to impress a girl named Arl. In one of his classes, he learns that many people want to leave the planet as the sun's rays are causing damage. Unfortunately, there have been delays. The professor later reveals that Rodite, a species on this planet, has been pushing the delays. Nobody knows about this because of the Rodite's immense political power. Additionally, the Rodite have downplayed the severity of the sun's rays, thus causing people to be more hesitant to evacuate the planet. When Mion's professor disappears, Mion realizes that he needs to leave the planet to get help. He knows Rodite kidnapped his professor, and Mion fears that if the Rodite aren't stopped, people won't leave the world before the sun causes immense damage. With a ragtag team and Arl, they escape the planet on a ship and go to a world unaffected by the sun's harmful rays. These aliens, impressed by Mion's perseverance, offer to help. Mion marries Arl, and Mion and his new allies infiltrate the city to kill the elder Rodites who run the planet. Mion deactivates the guard towers, and they descend into the sewer. There they discover that the Rodites, in their madness, have been cannibalizing the city's people. After a tense battle, Mion and his allies win, and a plan to evacuate the rest of the citizens from the planet before the sun's rays can cause more damage commences.
