Set in a dystopian world, the narrator, a young woman, ships off her body parts to a company called Rate Me to get rated on a scale of one to ten. During the process, her body parts are also altered and enhanced in order to achieve higher scores, although the narrator is never explicitly told what constitutes bodily perfection. Her feet and breasts show promising scores, but the narrator especially takes issue with her low-scoring vagina until it is finally fixed to receive a top rating. Met with criticism from her friend and mother as well as a new five-star scoring system, the narrator becomes increasingly aware of her objectification. The story closes with the narrator ending her membership with Rate Me through a call with an operator, who expresses that she is sorry to see her go since parts of her had potential.
