Misha is a Korean-Russian mechanic at the local train maintenance station in his Russian hometown. On his way home from work one day, he bumps into his childhood best friend, Kostya, who has returned for reasons unknown after an inexplicable disappearance. Misha takes Kostya back to his family inn, which his Korean father runs and where he and Kostya used to work in their youth. Kostya's stay forces Misha to think about his mother, who also disappeared but who never came back. Kostya eventually disappears again. Later, Misha, having fallen asleep on a train he works on, ends up at Vladivostok Station, where his mother used to take him before she left. The mechanic walks slowly through the city and, upon seeing the harbor, calls his father to tell him he's by the sea.
