A 33-year-old woman is dining at a fancy party where many exotic meats are served. She is attending the party with a companion who is missing two halves of his fingers and one whole finger. Before they leave, she says goodbye to the host, and the smell of his fingers from their handshake stirs her appetite. The morning after the party, the woman stretches. In the mirror she notices that her skin is getting worse, and that her virginity is beginning to rot. She eats bacon, and then goes to work. At work, she has a new colleague whose laugh she likes. That night, she is invited to go to the grocery store by her companion to the dinner party. They drive for hours to get to the store, where they fill their carts with an assortment of animal meat as well as liver, tongues, and brains. The woman eats lunch with her new colleague and learns that he is taking photography classes. He takes her garbage to the trash bin, and he gets a rash on his hand where she touches him. Later, the companion from the dinner party comes over. The tip of one of his fingers is being held on by a flap of skin; he tells her to remove it. She removes the tip of the finger, and her companion makes dinner. He serves them both soup, and pours the tip of his finger into her portion. She eats it eagerly, and has the leftovers from the soup in the middle of the night. The woman's skin gets worse, and it is blistered with pus. Her hair is thin and broken, and she can feel her organs sliding over each other and her virginity. She starts swimming at the YMCA pool, which helps her skin. Then, she starts to swim in the city bay at night. Her companion invites her to another dinner party. A manservant wheels in the previous host, who is glazed in pomegranate juice. The guests eat him, which is his gift to them and their gift to him. They marvel at how beautiful he is and how good he tastes. The woman's colleague starts taking pictures of her for his photography class. One day when they are eating lunch, he cuts his finger. She sucks the blood, which makes him uncomfortable. She then cuts her own finger, saying he can do it too, but he goes to get a bandaid. She sucks her own blood, marveling at how much better it tastes than his. The woman returns to the supermarket many times, searching for her companion. She sees him one day, and he smells and asks if she has been dining in. She responds that she has, and that she is tasty. She gives him her hymen as a gift, and tells him that if she was devoured, she would not be hungry anymore. The companion comes to her apartment repeatedly, bearing gifts of human body parts. He tells her that she must eat living flesh before she can be eaten, because she is still too much of a virgin. The woman is invited to dinner by her colleague, and he shows her the photographs he has taken. They sleep together, and when he is asleep she takes a small flap of skin from his back and eats it. The woman is fed endless amounts of food while cuffed by one foot in a cell as she awaits her banquet. The companion comes to visit her, and she says that she thought she was not going to be slaughtered first. The companion tells her that the others think she is not delicious enough for that, which makes her sad. She asks for the companion's help, but he only says he will not hinder her. When he leaves, she eats her foot off and slides the manacle off of her leg. Then, she goes into the dining hall, where all of the guests shower her with adoration.
