Cinnamon Jones has been visited by travelling salesmen for the third time in a week, trying to sell her a smart home. They display inflatables of the high-tech furnishings, offering better and better deals which she flat out refuses. Cinnamon is happy with her dumb house, with wooden statues of African deities, masks, and plants all around. She is kept company by Taiwo, a centuries-old African monster, who scares off intruders but clearly let these two, Carlos Witkiewicz and Barbett Blues.
Their bartering escalates into an argument, until suddenly Carlos clutches at his heart and collapses. When Cinnamon has called for help and escorted them into the house, they reveal that they have been two of her former lovers in disguise. They are working as Whistleblowers, travelling around to warn people of toxins, scams, takeovers, any evil headed their way. They tell Cinnamon to join them, but she says she cannot leave her dumb house and farm. All the same, she escorts them to the clinic and decides to visit the next day, realizing how much she'd missed having loved ones nearby.
