A young boy and his grandmother interact with Willard, a fellow boy who has come to stay at the Haywoods’ home nearby. Willard comes over, bounces his tennis ball without shame, and rudely asks the boy why his grandmother is so “grim.” Willard asks about the photos of the boy’s family members around the house. After he hears about the story behind the photo of the boy’s great-uncle, Willard makes an incredibly rude comment, and Grandma is angry. She whispers under her breath that Willard is no longer their guest.
