A pregnant Nigerian woman named Pat is alone at the hospital. While she waits to give birth, she finds comfort in talking to the seemingly harmless stranger next to her. She reflects on her childhood in Nigeria and the Christian values upon which she was raised. She calls her family but no one answers her.
Her new friend asks her questions and she slowly opens up to him. However, she grows suspicious of him. He knows everything about her and hints that he is part of a network. He later forces her on the operating table and removes her baby using a scalpel. Pat screams out in pain. Just then, her maternal instincts kick in feverishly and she pleads for the man to let her keep her baby.
When she comes to, her husband, Edem is beside her holding the baby in his arms. Edem tells her that the unnamed man disappeared. The happy family is together, but she's suspicious that Edem is harboring a secret. Pat feels she is not in control of her own destiny or her own body and wonders what will happen to her baby.
