Dallas Boyd is getting ready to play Richard Nixon, the titular character in the play and his own crowning achievement. As he sits in his dressing room, the crew tells him that the real Nixon died the night before during their performance. The playwright, who is also Dallas’ friend, visits him in his dressing room and they discuss the progression of his AIDS, the president’s death, and a Buddhist prayer before the actor goes onstage to resume his part.
