Plot Summary
One night a young boy and his family sit and read various books. While he reads The Three Musketeers, _the boy _suddenly stands up and proclaims that he wants to meet God. His uncle Amos laughs at him, but his father takes his request seriously. On the day before summer school, at which the boy will try to pass the sixth grade in just six weeks, the boy and his father take a walk. The boy asks again to see God, but the father tells him stories about other people who have requested to see God. The boy isn't satisfied by his father's explanation that the proof of God is all around him. His father asks if he'd be willing to meet with a representative of God and the boy agrees. Every morning on his way to summer school, the boy prays and prays for God to let him pass the sixth grade. The morning after his final exam, the boy walks to summer school to get his results. He once again begins to pray. As he turns the corner, a man in a long beard asks him the time. The boy immediately knows he is God's representative. The boy passes summer school and that night when he reports back to his father, his father is very proud. His father doesn't tell Uncle Amos about God's representative but Uncle Amos still laughs that the boy is proud that he passed sixth grade.
