In a bar in Warsaw, a person does shots of liquor in anticipation of the pain that the approaching torture squad is sure to inflict. The person recognizes the face of one of the squad members and labels her as a former team member seeded by a group called the Grizzlies to infiltrate the mission. The scout joins the person for a shot and the person reflects that it will most likely be their last. The person explains that they are in Warsaw to swap out a series of incriminating cables for dupes, as part of their job in destroying evidence. The scout tells the person that there is a car waiting outside and asks if they are ready to leave; instead, the person asks her to stay and have a drink with them. While the scout is distracted, the person spikes her drink. A minute later, the person is surprised to find that the scout is still awake. Finding their mission failed, they took a sip of vodka and spewed it in the scout’s eyes. 

As they run away, several Grizzly agents follow suit until they are caught. When they come to, they find themselves chained naked to a metal bed frame in a cold, white room. To distract themselves from the increasing discomfort, they pretend to order a martini. After a couple hours of waiting, they realize the Grizzlies method is to sober them up before the torture begins.

While they are sitting and waiting, they reflect on their younger self, remembering being a bookworm student at Stanford drawn in by an advertisement asking willing students to participate in an experiment. In the experiment, they learned how to use a gun and began to lose their memory after they underwent several hypnosis sessions. The experiment turned them into a violent psychopath. They soon learned that alcohol was the only thing keeping them in check from their violent tendencies.

They wake up again, this time with a broken left arm and someone else’s blood on their body. They showered off in a stall in the room and dressed in provided clothing and then walked out of the room. They return to the same bar as before and ordered more shots. Next, the person is sitting in the Vienna International Airport cocktail lounge waiting for a phone call. As the person is reflecting on his career, they pick up a call from their dad who appears to be in on the scheme and chastises them for assaulting the scout in the bar.
