Alexis Schaitkin is an American author. In 2020, she released her debut novel, Saint X, which the New York Times called one of the 100 Notable Books of the year. Her second novel, Elsewhere_, was a New York Times Editors' Choice pick, called a notable book by the American Library Association, and was a finalist for the Carol Shields Prize. A graduate of the University of Virginia's MFA program, her short fiction has appeared in Ecotone, Southern Review, Southwest Review, The Best American Short Stories, The Best American Nonrequired Reading, among others.
