A 62-year-old man has moved back to Oakland. After a confrontation with his neighbors about his aggressive dog, he reflects on his arrival to the neighborhood years ago, when his mother left him behind.

Alberto has been in love with Lola since high school, and now he works for her husband as a maid and cook. When Alberto finds out Lola's husband is leaving her, he must gather the courage to tell her how he feels.
