Two cartographers, a woman and a man named Lucas, reach a ridge line on the other side of a valley. Lucas comments on the area being "third world," and the woman assumes that the area cannot be "third world" without the military personnel, steel ruins, and rainforests she stereotypically associates with "third worlds." Lucas acknowledges that she is, like so many cartographers do, ignoring "social expressions like politics and history."
