Plot Summary
Danny is visiting his brother, Martin, on the farm that the two inherited. Though Danny dreamed of building something great with the farm, he consistently let his family down, leading Martin to buy him out of his share of the land. Danny approaches his brother, asking if he needs any help, but his brother shoos him away, saying there's no task he has that he can trust Danny to handle. Instead, he sends him to the house where Sarah cooks him breakfast but urges that he leaves once he finishes. Danny fantasizes about sex with Sarah, but she quickly snaps him back to reality, saying that those days are done. Satisfied with his meal, Danny gets up afterward, procures a shotgun, and shoots Sarah twice. When Martin returns, Danny shoots him twice as well. Danny steals Martin's car and drives around town, killing anyone he sees out, including children and animals. Danny kills countless people as he drives up the road, winding up at a cliff overlooking the sea. He positions the shotgun so that he can shoot himself using his foot to pull the trigger, but the first shot only maims him. Positioning himself again, Danny commits suicide, thinking to himself that everyone deserves a second chance.
