Plot Summary
Michael loses his job because of the unstable economy in a beach town. The typically tourist-filled town is experiencing hardship because the beaches are closed after several attacks from an enormous shark. Michael finds a job as a sandwich deliverer and meets Matt, with whom he begins a sexual relationship. Matt reveals he is in town to stop the shark and that he is not looking for anything long-term with Michael. Though Michael agrees with this, he begins to fall in love with Matt as their daily routine of sandwiches and sex continues. Matt gets closer to catching the shark, and Michael fears for his safety. After the beaches reopen and a boy is nearly attacked, Matt prepares a colossal cage and underwater gun to kill the shark. Before he heads out, Michael inquires about learning more about fish. Matt tells Michael he will tell him more about where he can learn about fish when he returns, and Michael expresses concern. Matt clarifies again that their relationship is temporary before revealing he plans to get in the water with the shark to take its picture. Michael worries about the future of Matt and the shark
