Plot Summary
Mr. Acarius is a man who feels he has not seen the true entropy of mankind, and is anxious to do so before his death. He speaks with his doctor about all of his desires to experience life on a more intimate and sporadic level. After a lengthy conversation, the doctor checks him into an asylum. The patients there constantly wreck havoc around Mr. Acarius while he lies on his bed. They scurry around for alcohol and plan elaborate escapes; they fight with the nurses and hide things around the room nonsensically. All the while, Mr. Acarius drones on about a dream he has had. Finally, Mr. Acarius chooses to act on the escape plan, and leaps from the window of a fellow patient's room. Mr. Acarius is found by the police and his doctor, and taken back to the hospital for treatment.
