Plot Summary
Two twin boys are born in Edison, New Jersey in the latter half of the twentieth century. Over the course of their childhood and adolescence, they take interest in sports, fight with each other and their younger sister, go through puberty, and get into trouble. When they are teenagers, their younger sister is diagnosed with cancer and passes away. The two twins diverge from one another ideologically, politically, and personally. As they get older, they return to the family house less and less, and go out on their own in search of careers and spouses. They deal with the grief of their sister's passing differently; one enjoys reminiscing about the times together, but the other does not want to talk about it at all. One day, they go out to fish with their father, who has a medical emergency — perhaps a stroke or heart attack. The two boys carry him home before they call the paramedics. Their father is brought out of the house, and the two boys leave, them, too, having grown into men.
