Elizabeth Percy is a nurse at a psychiatric hospital and her new patient, Ms. Myles, consumes her with worry. Ms. Myles is constantly sad, and the nurse wants her to feel better. Percy tells her boyfriend Dave about her patient, and Dave begs her to separate work from her home life. However, the nurse is unable to do so. Ms. Myles is constantly confused at the mental hospital due to the shock therapy. She only becomes happy when Percy tells her about her romantic relationship with Dave. When Percy realizes this, she tells Dave the news, and Dave gets exasperated with the nurse's obsession about her patient. Eventually, Percy's inability to separate herself from her job causes the two to break up. When Ms. Myles becomes more aware of her surroundings, she asks Percy about Dave. The nurse reveals that they are no longer together, and Ms. Myles begins to cry.
