Plot Summary
After being forced to testify against fellow members of the Lords of Ohio motorcycle gang, Beau James is put into witness protection in Quarryville, Texas. For the next twelve years, he lays low. He opens a barbecue joint called Quarryville Smokehouse and lives with his girlfriend Bethany and her teenage daughter Amanda. One day, Beau learns that a local magazine has run a profile on Quarryville Smokehouse, at the suggestion of loyal customer Tommy Baldwin. The article includes a photo of Beau, making him worry that his cover has been blown. He lashes out at Tommy, then calls his case officer at the U.S. Marshal Service, Sara Arquette. Sara tells Beau that she doubts anyone in Ohio would have seen the magazine, but she promises to investigate. Without explaining his past, Beau warns Bethany that he might have to skip town, and he makes her memorize Sara's phone number. The next day, Sara tells Beau that she doesn't plan on relocating him, even though he worries that Bethany and Amanda might be in danger because of him. He comes clean to Bethany, and she encourages him to stay in Quarryville. The next morning, Tommy tells Beau that he tried looking him up online and couldn't find anything. Based on Beau's reaction to the article, Tommy deduces that he has a past he's trying to hide. Later that day, while Beau and Amanda are working, someone calls the Smokehouse, asking for Beau. He tells Amanda and the other customers to leave the restaurant. On her way home from work, Bethany notices a dozen motorcycles pulling into the Quarryville Smokehouse parking lot. She dials Sara's number, then runs home to retrieve her rifle. The gang members enter the restaurant, where only Beau and Tommy remain. But before they can kill Beau, Bethany starts firing at them from across the street. Sara hurries to the scene, only to find the gang members being picked off one by one by Bethany. After it's all over, the U.S. Marshals Service offers to relocate Beau, but he decides to stay put and marry Bethany. As news spreads of the shootout, business at the Quarryville Smokehouse booms. To keep up with demand, Beau hires Tommy.
