There is a supernatural creature who can turn herself into water at will; she can slip down the shower drain to go swimming or can turn herself into a million drops of rain. The creature and her lover met when she was living at the bottom of an aquarium in a sushi restaurant, and he felt bad for her and took her out. The couple lived near a beach called End Beach, where a festival takes place every summer.
The participants take drugs, make art, and sacrifice themselves and things like their last memory of their grandma in hopes of winning the festival and getting swept out to sea. The creature's lover evidently won this festival and hasn't been seen in a year. Finally, the creature chains herself to a rock and places herself at the sea, where a sea monster—who is her former lover—begins to eat her. The narrator dissolves into water on the monster's tongue and the two live together again.
