A girl writes a story but her mother wishes it was a novel. Next, she crafts her own dollhouse but is told that it would be better if it was a real house. She makes a pillow for her father and he tells her that a quilt is more useful. The girl digs a hole in the garden and her mother says that a large hole would be better. She digs a large hole and goes to sleep inside of it. Her mother tells her that it would be better if she slept forever.
