In Lanzhou China, the author meets up with a zeppelin long-haul pilot named Icke, who has agreed to take the author on his transpacific haul. Icke tells him about what it’s like to be in the air for 300 days out of the year, zeppelin politics, and his wife (who works the zeppelin with him). The author learns a lot about what it’s like to have a home in the air. The story ends up centering more around Icke’s relationship with his wife than the zeppelin itself.
