A young girl regularly comes to play on a golf course. She knows her mother will scream if she finds her dress dirty, so she plans to sneak back into the house later without being noticed. In the meantime, the girl sees coins fall from a golfer’s pocket and runs to pick them up before anyone sees.
A caddy dressed in a black shirt catches sight of her and smiles at the fellows behind him. A different caddy in a striped shirt trudges towards her and tells her with a grin that she has to “pay the toll."
The caddy in black tickles her neck while he repeats the other’s question about whether she has money on her. The girl breaks into a nervous sweat as the men begin to ask her for a kiss. Her mind races for plans to escape until she finds a moment when the caddies are distracted amongst each other and makes a break for her house.
The men catch her, pick her up, and turn her upside down. The coins fall from her pockets. They set her back down and give her an orange soda as a golfer approaches them, but say nothing to explain the girl’s presence.
