Plot Summary
Determined to finally catch his dream rainbow trout, a man wades into a Georgia stream and sends his fishing line into the water, completely focused. After an endless moment of silence, the trout takes the bait and begins to tug violently, causing the fisherman to struggle to maintain control of the fishing rod. The fish jumps into the air, and the fisherman feels the tension of the rod go slack, wondering if the trout has escaped. However, the trout jumps again, still caught by the line and making a last effort to get away. Finally, the trout grows weak and begins to float in the water, and the fisherman is able to reel it in. But as he examines the trout, his pride fades, and he scowls, seemingly feeling sorry for the fish. In the end, he decides to let the trout go, and it disappears into the water.
