The Mongerji family sends their letters to the Chappalwala’s, continuing this letter correspondence as they have done so for generations. The Chappalwala’s are master letter writers, able to encapsulate items in their letters which can be resurrected and then stuffed back into the letters. They send to the Mongerji’s mainly animals and plants from all over the world. The Mongerji’s have amassed an impressive, prolific collection, but had to quickly flee and relocate once rioters looted their home. They still communicate with the Chappalwala’s, but their letters eventually stop when the father of the Mongerji passes away. Upon relocation, the new city the Mongerji’s dwell in did not take a liking to their collection, and, with the passing of the father, the son decided to end the relationship between the Mongerji’s and the Chappalwala’s.
