Plot Summary
Hannah wakes her younger sister Brooklyn early on Saturday morning. She's made them both breakfast. After they eat, Hannah announces that she's headed to the library. Brooklyn knows she's not going to the library, and she accuses Hannah of sneaking around with a boy. Brooklyn threatens to tell their mother that Hannah is seeing someone, and Hannah threatens in turn to tell their mother about the art supplies Brooklyn stole from their parent's store. She tells Brooklyn to be honest with their parents about wanting to be an artist, and Brooklyn calls Hannah a hypocrite: Hannah's going to be a doctor because that's what their parents want for her. Before Hannah leaves, Brooklyn tells her she hates her. The police arrive at Brooklyn and Hannah's house around dinnertime. They tell Brooklyn and her parents that Hannah was struck and killed by a car that afternoon. The family is grief-stricken. Brooklyn is sitting in Hannah's room when she hears Hannah's cell-phone ringing. It is a woman from "Who Wants to Be a K-Pop Idol?" She says Hannah got a callback. Brooklyn starts to cry; she realizes this is where Hannah was headed the Saturday she died, that her sister wasn't as perfect as she thought she was—she had dreams of her own. Brooklyn wakes to Hannah shaking her shoulders. She realizes it is the day Hannah died, happening again. Brooklyn tries desperately to keep Hannah from leaving the house, but Hannah goes anyway. Brooklyn follows her and finds the auditions for "Who Wants to Be a K-Pop Idol?" She waits in line, looking for Hannah, and she makes friends with some girls who are also auditioning. When she's told that Hannah got a callback and already left the venue, Brooklyn bolts towards the intersection where Hannah was killed. She gets there too late and watches Hannah get hit by the car. She runs to her; Hannah is barely conscious. Brooklyn tells Hannah that she loves her.
