In the near present, a butcher slaughters cows quickly and mercilessly for a living. However, he begins dreaming of a woman that enchants him. His life is derailed as he becomes more and more obsessed with seeing her in his dreams. He becomes more reclusive and agitated. She tells him that she will meet him soon, and he is besides himself in anticipation. He acts unusual all day, wondering what appearance she will take...until she appears to him as a cow on the slaughtering floor. She looks at him with her large, trusting eyes, and he names her Lilith. He kills her.
